A large chain of children’s clothing stores had a safety issue when a store-designed shelving unit fell in one location, resulting in a chain-wide overhaul. NDS was able to secure every single shelving unit across the country within 24 hours.

Fish system upgrades – Pet store chain

NDS was asked to do all of the electrical and plumbing work for a national pet store’s fish system upgrade progam. NDS had electricians and plumbers on site from 6 a.m. until the job was done at every location, dealing with many issues that were originally totally out of scope. This is a perfect example of NDS’ ability to be flexible and adjust to its clients needs – all while keeping on staying tight to the client’s budget, even as a job changes in the middle of the work.

While the original scope was simply to shut down the water, disconnect some circuits, turn the water back on, and re-connect the circuits, in several cases, NDS had to get whole new circuit breakers, conduits, and plumbing installed.

Emergency flooding – Jewelry chain

A major flood tore through a shopping mall in Red Deer, Alberta, leaving over a foot of water everywhere. The jewelry store in question suffered major damage to its showcases, carpeting, walls, and pretty much everything else inside. NDS had flood restoration crew on site within an hour of the initial call, and helped the store through nearly a week worth of drying, sanitizing, and repairs. NDS was available every minute of the day to assist in the cleanup, allowing the store to stay open for an extra two weeks before a temporary shutdown for renovations – in essences, NDS’ quick and thorough response gave the store an extra two weeks of business, preventing major losses in sales.
